In Loving Memory of Donald Reid Steffensen

With hearts full of love and gratitude, we celebrate the life of Donald Reid Steffensen, who passed away peacefully on April 24, 2025, at the age of 66. Though our time with him feels far too short, Don filled every moment with joy, adventure, and an unshakable sense of humor.

Born on April 20, 1959, Don was a true explorer at heart with a deep love for the great outdoors. Whether he was hiking through the red rock of southern Utah, relaxing by the ocean, or simply soaking in the fresh air on a spontaneous road trip, he found joy and peace in nature’s beauty.

Wherever life took him, as long as his family was by his side, he had everything he needed. He is lovingly remembered by his four daughters—Amber Orr (Derek), Keara Russell (Billy), Brittany Steffensen, and Desirae Stewart (Drew). His legacy also lives on in his seven grandchildren, who brought him endless joy and laughter. Whether he was “picking on them,” sharing stories, or just being silly, “Grandpa Don” was always the fun  one—present, playful, and deeply cherished.

A celebration of Don’s life will be held on May 12th at 11:00 a.m. at Memorial Mountain View Mortuary, 3115 Bengal Blvd, Cottonwood Heights, UT 84121. All who knew and loved him are welcome to attend and share in remembering his incredible spirit.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to be made to Don’s Venmo @Donald-Steffensen-1, where proceeds will further be donated to a cancer research center of the family's choosing to honor Don’s courageous journey and in hope for a healing future.

Don’s love of life, his adventurous soul, and his warm, generous heart will be remembered always. He may have set off on his final voyage, but his light will continue to guide us, wherever we go.
