Donald Reuel Maxwell was born August 26, 1930 in Salt Lake City, Utah. He passed away in his home on the night of September 4, 2017 surrounded in the comfort of his family at the age of 87.
He leaves behind his loving wife of 57 years, Anneliese Maxwell.
Donald had six children, Daniel (Cindy), Linda Emerson, Richard (proceeded in death), Tanya Wallace, Melissa Hall and James (proceeded in death). He had 20 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren that were close to him and admired him immensely.
To say Reuel was an amazing man would be an understatement. He spent his early years in Wyoming working on ranches with horses. He always loved the cowboy life and wore cowboy boots and hats until he couldn’t anymore.
He opened his care home facilities with his wife Anne in 1961 in Salt Lake City, and continued showing and breeding quarter horses for many years.
He was a loving, caring, happy and humorous man. His great passions in life were horses, fishing, hunting, camping, taking care of others, and just being with his family.
