Donald Bruce Malmborg

Donald Bruce Malmborg was born on June 12, 1935, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to John W. Malmborg and Sara (Stock) Malmborg. He passed away peacefully on January 14, 2025, in Herriman, Utah, at the age of 89.

The second of three children, Don grew up in Salt Lake City and graduated from South High School in 1953. On July 19, 1954, he married his eternal companion, Dorothy Webb. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple on February 14, 1964. Together, they built a beautiful life and were blessed with four children: daughters Vicky Dixon, Brenda (Bret Nielsen), Connie (Dave Blackhurst), and son Daron (Lynda Royter).

In May 1953, Don enlisted in the Utah Air National Guard, where he retired at the rank of Chief Master Sergeant. He dedicated his career to serving the Guard, retiring in December 1991 as the Consolidated Base Personnel (CBPO) Manager. His exceptional service earned him numerous prestigious awards. After his military retirement, Don embarked on new ventures, purchasing and operating two beauty salons and later also working as the office manager for Raytheon Company in Draper, Utah.

An active and devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Don faithfully served in various stake and ward leadership positions, always striving to bless the lives of those around him.

Don is survived by his beloved wife, Dorothy, his four children, 13 grandchildren, and 20 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 24, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Memorial Redwood Mortuary, 6500 South Redwood Road, West Jordan, Utah. Family and friends may pay their respects at a viewing prior to the service from 1:00 to 1:45 PM. Interment will follow at Memorial Redwood Cemetery, located at the same address.

Don’s legacy of love, service, and devotion will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
