Donald Jay Elggren was born July 15, 1942, to Donald Jay and Maurine Spencer Elggren in Salt Lake City, Utah. He passed away August 24, 2013, at his home in Henderson, Nevada. Dad was charismatic and even as a young man was a leader. Always involved in sports and extracurricular activities, he was student president at Olympus High and of Beta Theta Phi fraternity at the U of U. He was top of his class in UCLA's Master's of Hospital Administration program. As an LDS missionary in France, Dad was selected to open the new Franco-Belgian mission. During his last, long career with Franklin Quest, later Franklin-Covey, he was often recognized for outstanding performance. Dad met the love of his life, Bailey Clark, in Los Angeles; they were married on June 10, 1988, in Las Vegas. They lived in San Pedro, CA, and Henderson, NV. Their beloved dog, Xena, has been Dad & Bailey's constant companion. Believing in the adage "Circumstances don't make you, they reveal you." Dad accepted his choices with some regrets but with a true heart. He loved his children dearly and adored his grandchildren. Dad tended to become fast friends with every person he met. We will miss Dad's charm, witty humor, philosophical questions, and down-to-earth business sense. We love you, Dad. Dad is survived by his loved and adored wife, Bailey Clark; his children Matt (Liz) Elggren, Adam (Heather) Elggren, and Erin (Steve) Koerselman; Emily and Sean Elggren, and Kelly McQueeney; and eight grandchildren: Jaxson, Miles, Dylan, Ryan, Connor, Alexander, Claire and Lincoln. Surviving are his siblings, Mardy (Allen) Erekson, Leslee (Don) Blatter and Ted (Linda) Elggren. Preceded in death by his parents. Graveside services will be held Friday, August 30, at Holladay Memorial Park, 4900 South Memory Lane, Holladay, UT, at 10:30 a.m.
