Donald “Don” Leland Williams

Don passed away on May 19, 2019 at the age of 90. Don was born on January 12, 1929 in Ogden, Utah to Leland and Mable Williams. At a young age he moved to Salt Lake City and lived there for most of his life. Don loved to work with his hands and could often be found tinkering with motorcycles, cars and boats. He enjoyed working on building garages, houses and anything else that he could get his hands on. He had several jobs growing up including setting pins at a bowling alley, repairing jewelry and working in an ice house making ice before settling down as a post man for the United States Postal Service in 1952. Although he was retired, he was not ready for a slower paced life so he decided to purchase a local bar named Kings Four Lounge and ran it for 14 years. He enjoyed being surrounded by friends and loved ones and was always up for having a good time. After retiring he bought a motor home and enjoyed traveling.
Don is survived by his six children, Bonnie (Richard) Cox, David (Charlene) Williams, Bill (Mary) Williams, Donna (Ron) Anderson, Delane Mayhew, Dennis (Kathy) Williams; Ex-Wife Kathryn Williams, Stepchildren: Merlon Alcorn, Wendell Alcorn, Barbara Larson (Brad), Connie Kiser (Rick) Bill Alcorn, Sherrie Rose (Bobby), Bryan Alcorn (Corin), numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his, his parents, Leland and Mable Williams, his first wife, Betty Williams, brother Darald Williams and his three grandchildren, Brannon Williams, Ronnie Anderson and Jenny Mayhew.
A viewing will be held on Wednesday, May 29, 2019 at 12:00 pm followed by a graveside service at 2:00 pm at Memorial Redwood Mortuary 6500 S. Redwood Road, West Jordan, Utah.
