Dolores R. Jackson, age 79, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on May 9, 2019 in Bountiful, Utah. She was born on October 31, 1939 in McPhee, Colorado to Fred and Emilia Martinez. Dolores eloped with Merrell T. Jackson and they were married on July 30, 1960 in Elko, Nevada. Together they had 4 beautiful children.
In her younger years, Dolores was a former Beauty Queen of the Miss Hill Air Force Base Pageant. Dolores graduated from West High School in 1957 and went on to study nursing. She was a caring wife, mother, and grandmother and loved her gambling trips to Wendover and Mesquite. She also enjoyed camping with her family and loved just spending time with family. Throughout the years Dolores worked for Hill Air Force Base, Fred Meyer and NPS.
Dolores is survived by her husband, Merrell T. Jackson, son, Robert (Debbie) Jackson, daughters, Debra Jackson, Lisa Zavala, and Christine (Spencer) Christensen, siblings, Rose (Dave) Langton, Mike (Georgia) Martinez, Tony Martinez, Danny (Arlene) Martinez, and Theresa (Craig) Jacobson, as well as 12 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her father, Fred Martinez, mother, Emilia Martinez, son-in-law, Arturo Zavala, granddaughter, Casie Christensen, and great-grandson Mckai Jackson.
There will be a Viewing on Friday May 17, 2019 from 1:00 PM to 2:45 PM at Memorial Redwood Mortuary and Cemetery, 6500 South Redwood Road, West Jordan Utah. There will be a private family prayer from 2:45 PM to 3:00 PM, followed by a Graveside Service in the Garden of Meditation at 3:00 PM.
