Doc Ficklin

January 7, 1942 — July 3, 2015

Doc Rudolph (Rudy) Ficklin passed away at home on July 3, 2015. He was surrounded by his family who loved him dearly and will be welcomed home with open arms to his Heavenly Father, family and friends beyond the veil. Rudy was born January 7, 1942 to Doc Granderson and Hazel Agnes Ficklin in Gonzales Louisiana. His parents moved to Utah where he grew up and graduated from West High School. This is where he met and married Sharon Martha O’Brien, the love of his life of 54 years. Father of 3 children, Rudy was an example of hard work, dedication and was a magician with his lifelong career as a cabinet maker and carpenter. He was an advert sportsman and loved the outdoors, fishing and camping. He will forever be remembered for his passion for golf and bowling – mastering both. Survived by wife, Sharon; children; Sherry, David, and Todd; siblings, Raby and Jerry; 9 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by parents; Doc and Hazel; siblings; Peggy and John. Rudy loved his family and was as tough as they come. “What” Until we meet again…..
Graveside services will be held Friday July 10, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. at Redwood Memorial Mortuary, 6500 S. Redwood Road, West Jordan, Utah.
