Dixie Redmond

Dixie Tobler Redmond, age 89. Beloved mother, grandmother, sister and friend passed away peacefully February 13, 2014 from a stroke that took her quickly to her heavenly home. Dixie was born in Santa Clara, Utah on Jan. 24, 1925. Daughter of Edward Tobler and Lula Viola Stucki. Married Thomas Edward Lebreton April 22, 1946, later divorced. Married George Vermont Redmond Aug. 11, 1973.
Dixie’s greatest joy was spending time with her family, being entertained by the fun chaos of all of her great-grandchildren. She was a faithful member of the LDS Church and enjoyed serving in various callings. Dixie served as a temple worker over 25 years with her sweet companion George. She loved babies and volunteered at Cottonwood Hospital Nursery for several years. Dixie found great satisfaction in working hard, gardening and making things beautiful. She loved flowers especially roses and at age 80 she added 20 more rose bushes to her yard. She worked as a bookkeeper for Grand Central Offices. Her two sisters were her best friends. They enjoyed many camping trips together and rarely missed their daily chats on the phone.
Survived by sisters, Verlene Derfler, Karma DeVries. Children-Step-children, Thomas LeBreton (Susan), Toni Whipperman (Scott), Sheila Redmond, Chris Jones (Frank), Diane Joseph (Dave), David Redmond, Pam Redmond, Mindy Woolsey, Larry Redmond, 23 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, Feb 22, 2014 at 12:00 at the Cottonwood Heights 2nd Ward Chapel, 6890 South 2225 East. Friends may visit from 10:00-11:30 am. Interment will follow at Holladay Memorial Park, 4900 S Memory Lane (1990 E), Holladay, Utah. Condolences may be shared with the family at www.holladaycottonwoodmortuary.com
