Dieter “Henri” Nippert

Dieter “Henri” Nippert passed away March 14, 2022 in Mission, Texas.
Dieter was born September 19, 1940 in Breslau, Germany. He grew up and attended school in Coburn, Germany, where he learned his trade as a baker. He came to the U.S. in 1957 to reunite with his family that had immigrated to Salt Lake City.
Dieter married Dolores Mae Brown in Ogden, Utah – later divorced. Married Heide Woltjen in Midwest City, Oklahoma.
Dieter worked most of his life in the food service field. He enjoyed cooking for the celebrities in California as well as teaching cooking skills to the inmates at the Utah State Prison. He taught culinary arts at Idaho State University and was owner/operator of Heide’s German Restaurant in Draper, Utah and Howe, Idaho. Dieter was a member of Horst Fiedel and the Bavarians and enjoyed many years performing at the Snowbird Oktoberfests. He spent the latter part of his life in Atomic City, Idaho as a city Councilman and was also the owner/operator of Red Baron Roofing.
Dieter is survived by his wife Heidemarie, children Dieter Nippert, Jr. California; Stephen (Angela) Nippert, Layton; Dr. Aaron (Dallas) Nippert, Idaho Falls; Heidi (Gene) Ellington, Lehi; Helga (Tracy) Whaley, Eagle Mountain and Adam (Denise Boudreaux) Nippert, South Jordan. Brothers Charles (Andrea) Saenger, Heber and Klaus (Jolene) Saenger, West Valley as well as 22 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren whom he loved dearly. Preceded in death by a son Leroy.

Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Tuesday, March 22, 2022 at the Memorial Murray Mortuary, 5850 South 900 East, Murray, Utah. A viewing will be held from 10 – 10:45 am prior to the services. Interment will follow the services at the Memorial Mountain View Cemetery, 3115 East 7800 South, Cottonwood Heights, Utah, 84121.Service Information
