Diane Walton Dunlop

June 20, 1951 — January 10, 2017

On January 10th Diane Dunlop passed away peacefully of complications from a heart attack. She will be deeply missed by her husband of almost 50 years, Bob, her son Gerald, and her siblings Donna, Darlene, John, Jim, Calvin, and the numerous friends she made during her time on earth. Diane will be welcomed into heaven by her mother and stepfather Jane and Warren Hunter, and her father and stepmother Darwin and Roma Walton, and her sister Judi Whiteley.
Diane was born on June 20th 1951 in Salt Lake City, Utah. She graduated from Granger High School in 1969, and on June 13th of that same year she married her high school sweetheart Robert Mack Dunlop. She had a varied and rich career in banking and customer service. However the job she loved the most was being mom to her son Gerald. She loved caring for him and teaching him to be the responsible and compassionate man he is today. Diane loved meeting new people and made friends easily. She was always willing to help a friend in need. She had a soft spot in her heart for animals. She had many pets of her own over the years and in retirement enjoyed babysitting all the neighborhood dogs. Diane will always be remembered as a loving mother and friend who was passionate about helping others in any way she could.
Services will be held at Memorial Redwood Cemetery on Saturday, January 21st. Friends may gather with the family at noon, with a graveside service beginning at 1pm. In lieu of flowers, the Diane Dunlop Memorial Fund was set up at Zions Bank in her honor.
