Diane Lee Dreier Deputy

February 14, 1929 — February 6, 2021

Diane was born February 14, 1929 in Los Angeles, California to Jerome Herman Dreier and Bernice Loraine Tieman Dreier. She had a younger brother, Stephen Wayne Dreier, who died before birth. She grew up in Los Angeles in the suburb city of Highland Park. She enjoyed wonderful memories of a happy childhood and a loving family; her Dreier and Tieman grandparents and her aunts, uncles and cousins. In 1947 she met a handsome young man recently returned from US Navy service in the war, Wallace Ross Deputy. They were married July 16, 1948. They had 5 beautiful children; Michael Edward (Sheila) Deputy, Marilyn Jane (Lyman) Momeny, Suzanne Lorraine (Joseph) Schoney, Loralee Jeanne (Donald) Pooley, Stephen Aaron Deputy. She is survived by her children, 20 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren and (1) 2nd great grandchild. After converting to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in 1958, Diane discovered she had a talent for and very much enjoyed genealogy and family history. It became a significant part of her life. She dedicated years of service to research and writing about her own ancestors and the family histories and ancestors of others. She was a prolific writer and wrote some 40+ books telling the stories of families. She traveled many times over the years across the USA and also to Europe, always in search of records of ancestors. She co-authored with the late Connie Rector, “Links of Forever”, “The Celestial Connection” and “Roots and Branches – An Exciting Collection of Genealogical Success Stories.” Her conversion story was published in “No More Strangers” by Hartman and Connie Rector. She had many treasured friends. She played the piano and loved to entertain her friends. She enjoyed talking to others and made many friends. Rest in peace, Diane.
