Diana Sue Fanning passed away peacefully in her sleep on March 31, 2021. Diana was born May 24, 1944 to Nathaniel Eugene and Norma Clarice Fanning. Diana is survived by her son Jon of Millcreek, UT and her sister Valerie Bain, Smyrna GA. Preceded in death by her parents; brother, Michael Eric Fanning; and sister Karen Ann Fanning.
Diana was always kind and generous. Throughout her life she shared her talents with her many friends and neighbors, and even with strangers. She is famous for lovingly knitting caps for hundreds of people; many of those were made to order. She also provided baby blankets to numerous newborns. She loved to bake and shared her creations with her friends and neighbors.
Diana loved to read, sing, write poetry, paint, and share her witness of the Savior, Jesus Christ, and His restored gospel.
A special memory was an opportunity she had to participate in an archeological dig in Latin America. She was thrilled by the opportunity to travel and see other parts of the world.
Diana was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, which she joined in her youth. She served in many capacities in the Church throughout her life.
Among multiple occupations, Diana worked in several caregiver roles throughout her life. She assisted many with in-home health care and worked in medical offices providing vocational nursing services to others. She especially loved working with children.
Diana’s deepest love went out to her son Jon, who helped care for her at home for many years.
A viewing will be held on Thursday, April 8th, 2021 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Winder 7th ward located at 4350 South 1100 East, Millcreek, UT
A graveside funeral service will be held on April 9th, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. at the Elysian Gardens Cemetery, Millcreek, UT
