Dennis Walter King

Dennis Walter King, Age 83, died on April 9, 2017 in Centerville, Utah. He was born on March 2, 1934 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Genevieve and Walter King. He married Cherie Ann Symes on February 19, 1955.
He was an engineer in every sense of the word. From math to model trains, and teaching to model planes, he taught us that having a hobby was not only a great way to stay out of trouble, but also a way to serve and bless the lives of others.
In his own words, “There will not be any riches to leave to our children and grandchildren, but we have had some great times together. We preferred to enjoy our family while we were still here together rather than leaving behind the riches of the world. We have had some marvelous times together … After all, life is about families and families are forever.”
He is survived by his wife, Cherie King, daughters Pyper Stivers (Terry), KimberLee Allred (Deano), Tracie Lemmon, and his son Michael King (Shannon). He is also survived by his brothers, David King (Janice) and Stephen King (Mike Wasiloff), his 12 grandchildren, Abigail Studer (Jon), Collin Stivers (Lauren), EmaLee Dan (Brian), Jared Erekson (Rachael), Elizabeth Miranda (Reyes, Jr.), Courtney Lemmon, Cory Stivers, Katie Lemmon, Taylor King, Sydney King, Raygan Bitner (Tyler), and Kendyl King, as well as his eight great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his mother, Genevieve Jensen King, and his father, Walter Albert King.
Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Saturday, April 15, 2017 at the Porter Lane 1st Ward, 435 West 400 South, Centerville, Utah. A viewing will be held at the same location on Friday, April 14, 2017 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM and again 1 hour prior to the funeral service. Interment will be at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
