Dennis Lee Hansen, 61, passed away May 23, 2017 at the Avalon Care Center form kidney failure.
 
Dennis was born November 6, 1955 in Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada to David and Shirley Smith.  Dennis at the age of three years old, along with his siblings Wendy, David and Dean, lost their parents in a tragic accident.  The children received loving care from extended family.
 
At age 12, Dennis’ journey brought him to the home and family of Arden and Donna Hansen, who later adopted him.  He gained four additional siblings, Mike, Kathy, Tom and Ken.  Dennis was blessed with two families.
 
Dennis received a Bachelor’s Degree from Ricks College and from BYU.  He was beyond “True Blue.”
 
Dennis was employed by the LDS Distribution Center for 36 years where he had many friends.
 
Dennis was a gifted pianist who shared his talent joyfully with everyone.  He was also a “Master” at playing crane game machines.  He crowded his home with hundreds of stuffed animals.
 
Dennis is survived by his father, Arden Hansen; sisters, Wendy (Claigh) Jensen, Kathy (Darold) Rowley; brothers, David (Sharon) Smith, Mike, Tom (Sandra) and Ken Hansen and many nieces and nephews.
 
He was preceded in death by parents, David and Shirley Smith; mother, Donna Hansen and brother, Dean Smith.
 
Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, May 30, 2017 at 2:00 PM at Memorial Redwood Mortuary, 6500 South Redwood Road, West Jordan, Utah.  Friends may visit with the family prior to services from 1:00 to 1:45 PM.
 
Interment at Memorial Redwood Cemetery, 6500 South Redwood Road, West Jordan, Utah.
