Dennis Deen Brown

January 22, 1935 — December 29, 2019

Dennis Deen Brown returned to his Heavenly Father on December 29, 2019, in Salt Lake City, Utah at the age of 84. He was born in Salt Lake City, Utah on January 22, 1935 and married Anneliese Karrasch on December 5, 1958 in the Salt Lake City Temple.
Dennis was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and provider. He loved his family, especially his true-love, Anneliese, who he cherished for over 60 years in marriage. He enjoyed time spent with his family, especially his 11 grandchildren, and cherished spending time with them on vacations, coaching them in sports, and supporting them in all of their activities. Dennis was a devoted servant of our Heavenly Father, serving in numerous callings in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. His love for serving others was especially impactful in teaching the youth and spending many years as a bishop at the Utah State Prison. Happiness for Dennis was spending time outdoors fishing, camping, or gardening. Dennis developed a love for poetry, writing hundreds of poems, and loved sharing his writings at each family gathering.
Dennis was an amazing example to everyone he came in contact with and never had anything negative to say about anyone or anything. Our husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather had a way of making everyone around him feel important and loved and will be greatly missed by all of us.
He is survived by his wife, Anneliese, his children, Steven (Lisa) Brown, Kristina (Branden) Putnam, and Brian (Callie) Brown, his 11 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, and his sister, Joy Ann. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, and daughter, Angela.
