Deloa Pitt

January 15, 1938 — July 28, 2015

Our beloved & cherished wife, mother, grandma & sister passed away July 28, 2015 at age 77; due to complications following a stroke. DeLoa was born January 15, 1938 to Ione Reynolds & Ernest Goulding. She married her true love & sweetheart – Harold Reed Pitt on March 18, 1955. They were later sealed in the Manti temple on January 5, 1963.
Throughout their 60 years of marriage they had four children: Kristeen (Jerry) Cornell, Scott (Lauren) Pitt, Jeffury (Oscar) Pitt & Darin (Vera) Pitt. 10 grandchildren, & 16 great grandchildren.
DeLoa loved the sunshine & many outdoor activities including golf. Other hobbies included stained glass art, ceramics & cooking elaborate dishes for family dinners. She loved to travel & was able to visit or work in China, Singapore, South Korea, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Portugal & many areas in North America. The thing she loved the most was spending time with & teaching her family. She was a lifelong faithful member of the LDS church & served in many capacities there.
She took deep pride in her professional life where she was an International pioneer in central service & materials mgmt. This included the cleaning & sterilization processes of surgical supplies & instrumentation. She was the founder of the Utah Chapter & President of the International Association of the IAHCSMM. This gave her the opportunity to consult worldwide where her recommendations often became policy.
Funeral Services will be held Tues. Aug. 4, 2015 at the Valley View 4th ward: 2125 E. Evergreen Avenue at 12:00 noon with viewing before from 11:00 – 11:45 am. Friends & Family are also invited to attend a viewing on Mon. Aug. 3, 2015 at Murray Memorial: 5850 S. 900 E. from 6:00-8:00 pm. Interment & graveside services following the memorial services at Mountain View Memorial Park: 3115 E. 7800 S.
