Debra Leigh (Giersz) Dille

August 1, 1959 — December 24, 2024

Clearfield, Utah

On December 24, 2024, our beloved mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and aunt, Debra L. Dille (Deb) of Clearfield returned to her Heavenly Father, surrounded by her family. She passed away at the age of 65 years old. She was born on August 1, 1959, in Grand Junction, Colorado.

Deb attended Brighton High School, graduating with the class of 1977. She was a respected professional in the mortgage lending industry for over 35 years, known for her dedication, expertise, and integrity. She built a successful career in underwriting and was admired by many, retiring in May 2020.

Deb married Michael A. Giersz on December 18, 1976, and they were together until his passing on October 17, 2012. She remarried Brent Dille on April 7, 2018, who preceded her in death on June 8, 2018. She later met her love and best friend, Rocky Hamblin, with whom she shared many cherished years.

The way she brought joy and light to every room with her cheerful personality and laugh was truly heartwarming. Her selflessness and willing to help others before herself are traits that are rare and precious.

Deb truly had a knack for finding joy in the simple things that many of us might overlook. Whether she was enjoying a cup of coffee, playing slot machines in Wendover, tending to her garden, camping under the stars, or hitting the open road on long trips, she fully embraced the beauty of everyday life. Her enduring connection with her grandchildren and her adventurous spirit in searching for Bigfoot demonstrate her unwavering dedication to her loved ones and her passions.

Deb lived a life rich in love, laughter, and meaningful experiences. Her legacy continues to inspire those who knew her, and her story is a testament to the power of finding happiness in the little things.

We mourn the loss of our mother and find comfort in knowing she is now at peace. She fought a hard 10-month battle with bone marrow cancer. Our heartfelt thanks to the staff at LDS Bone Marrow Cancer team and Layton Infusion center for the love and care of our mother.

Deb’s unconditional love and joy indeed created a lasting impact. Her family will forever hold her memory close, inspired by her warmth, generosity, and appreciation for life’s simple pleasures. As her spirit continues to shine through her loved ones, Deb’s love and joy will undoubtedly impact generations to come.

Deb is survived by her life partner, Rocky Hamblin; her two children: Amber (Joe) Hong and Brian (Melissa) Giersz; 10 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild; her mother, Diana Lee Greager; and her birth father, Monte (Terri) Van Gundy. She leaves behind siblings: Corine Terry, Paul Greager, Dewey Greager, and John Greager, as well as nieces and nephews, and her precious dog, Penny Lane.

She was preceded in death by her husbands: Michael A. Giersz and Brent Dille; her father, Glen D. Greager, and grandparents.

A Celebration of Life in Deb's honor will be held at 10:00 AM at Memorial Lakeview Mortuary; 1640 Lakeview Drive, Bountiful, Utah. Following the celebration Deb will be interred in the Syracuse City Cemetery; 1250 South 1000 West, Syracuse, Utah.
