Dean W. Cox

September 28, 1930 — March 4, 2018

Dean passed away peacefully in Washington after a long and happy life.  He is survived by his children; Marcia Johnson (Dick), Lorna Allen (Jamie), Nadeane Dutson, Wade Cox (Becky), Suzan Barnes (Ron) and Myrna Beery (Art).  He is also survived by his siblings Elva (Ellie) Brown, Mary Lee Jarrett and Bud Cox.
Born in Overton, Nevada, he loved to travel, explore and change addresses.  He moved from house to house much more than most, usually to improve his situation, but sometimes because he wanted a new project.  He met Marjorie Fitt in Salt Lake City after being honorably discharged from the Navy.  They married 4 months later and had 6 children.  He earned a Master’s Degree in education from Brigham Young University and worked for the university for most of his career in Printing Services.  In his later years he hosted campgrounds all over the West and served three missions for the church in Nigeria, Fresno, and St. George.
He dearly loved his wife and children, making them the central focus of his life.  He was nearly always happy and jovial.  His approach to his family was to say “yes” whenever he was asked for his permission or help with anything.
He developed a deep and consistent commitment to the restored gospel of Jesus Christ in his early marriage and made the teaching of his faith to his family his first priority.
He will be missed by all who knew him.
