Dean Sorenson

Our beloved father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend died unexpectedly December 26, 2013. Dean was born June 4, 1947 in Gunnison, UT, to Max and Emeral Sorenson. As a child he learned to work hard on the farm from his father, who was a wonderful example to him. He loved the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing, and he was an exceptional gardener. In recent years, he enjoyed simply sitting outside, where he felt peace and happiness. He loved his work as a carpenter and took pride in what he built.
Dean was a wonderful man who was loved much by those who knew him. He is a veteran of the Vietnam War, where he earned several medals, including 2 purple hearts and a bronze star.
Dean married the love of his life, Ann Ipson in 1971. He had 3 wonderful children who adored him. He was a devoted father and grandfather.
Dean is survived by Ann; children, Eric Sorenson, Mindi (Darrin) Pons of Reno, NV; Cambry (Jeremy) Goodfellow; and 7 grandchildren who have a special place in his heart.
Service will be held Monday, Dec. 30 at 11 am at Mountain View Memorial Mortuary, 3115 E. 7800 S. Cottonwood Heights. Viewings will be held Sunday, Dec. 29 from 6-8 p.m. and again 1 hour prior to the service. Interment Mountain View Memorial Park.
