Davina Lake

August 17, 1962 — July 22, 2016

“On Friday July 22, 2016, our beloved Davina Elenoa Lake was embraced by our Heavenly Father and taken home. As saddened as we are, we rejoice and celebrate the wonderful life she had and are blessed by the gift of having her in our lives.
Born a twin on August 17, 1962 in Kahuku, she lived many of her years in Hawaii where she attended school and worked. She was a graduate of Kahuku High School and went on to study at BYU Hawaii while also working in administration for the world famous Polynesian Cultural Center in Laie.  On March 24, 1993, her life was blessed with the birth of her daughter, Alexandria Ku’uipo Lake, who became the center of her universe.  In 1994, she moved to Maui where she settled in Kihei before making the decision to move to Salt Lake City, UT in 1997. She worked for NAMI of Utah for a time before January of 2000 when she began her career at Harland Clarke where she happily spent the last 17 years.
Her daughter, brothers, many nieces and nephews, and Mother survive her: Alexandria Ku’uipo Lake, Martin (Lavern), Michael (Stephanie), David (Jennifer), and Elenoa Coleman (Michael Sr).  In addition, she is preceded in life by her twin brother David Newman Lake (June 2016) and her father, Newman Lake (November 2010).
Those who knew Davina knew that her daughter, Alexandria, was her life. From the moment she gave birth her love was unconditional, dedicating her life to the child she had been blessed with. Davina strived to live an exemplary life of love and generosity. She was known for her kindness, compassion and service.
We will remember her in honor, love and with the famous smile that she came in and returned home with.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 28, 2016 at the Jordan North 8th ward LDS Chapel, 3900 S. 4000 W. in West Valley City, UT.
Her viewing for friends and family will begin at 9:15am, with her funeral service to begin at 11am.
A special recognition to Dr. Richard Frame, for the wonderful care he provided for Davina during her illness.”
