David Grant Thedell

David Grant Thedell, age 80, passed on April 3, 2025, in Sandy, Utah. He was born on July 5, 1944, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Gus and Lela Thedell. He married Merrily Jill Ranck in 1972.

To know Dave was to love Dave. Everyone loved this man with a bright mind and a big heart. Dave was a devoted husband and father. As a boy, he was interested in animals and building things. As a young man, Dave fixed bicycles and then, later, cars. He was a musician and performed with his swing band called The Swing Set. He was always good at fixing things and became an electronics technician. He worked at Interwest Electronics for 46 years and was known for his thorough and excellent work. He will be sorely missed by everyone.

He is survived by his three daughters, Laura, Stacy, and Jolie; his seven sons, Darrin, Dustan, Devin, Duke, David "Cush", Dallon, and Dan; and 16 grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Merrily; his sister, Carol Fairbanks; his parents, Gus & Lela Thedell; his daughter, Bonnie; and his grandbaby, Daegan.

The funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 12, 2025 2:00 PM with a viewing held an hour prior.

Interment will be at Lake Hills Memorial Cemetery.
