David Scott Griffin

David Scott Griffin returned to his heavenly father on June 24, 2019 due to complications from a heart attack. He was born on February 26, 1958 to Raymond Ritter and Alta Alene Owens Griffin in Sandy, Utah.
He was quite a jokester who was an avid outdoorsman that loved to camp, hunt, fish and just be in the mountains, or his backyard that he and Kathy are so proud of (which has beautiful flowers, a large garden and the BBQ decks he built).
He was a self-made man, a Dave of all trades. He was self-taught in many things and was always willing to help when asked. Dave loved to start projects and has many unfinished ones if anyone wants to help finish them he’d probably be very grateful.
Dave is survived by his beautiful wife of 35 years, Kathy, his children Dustin (Lyndsey), Isaac (Neva), Cassie (Danny), Amber (Steve), Lacy (Bryan), and David (Alice). His Grandchildren-Kasandra (Prince), Coston (Sarah), Kyler, Aujiel, Madison, Marissa, April, Bryan, Brody, Aubrey, Jase, Steve, Eli, Kenzley and great grandchildren- Khoda, Kayson, Aliyah. His siblings Rick, Wendy, Marty (Gina), Gail (David).
He is preceded in death by his parents Raymond Ritter Griffin and Alta Alene Owen Griffin, his sisters Patricia Elmer and Del Rae Griffin, his grandson Christopher Bylund and his granddaughter Annabelle Markham.
Dave loved his wife, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was very welcoming and always stayed positive.
Funeral services will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints 5750 South Nena Way, Murray Utah on Friday, June 28, 2019 at 12:00 PM. A viewing will be held two hours prior beginning at 10:00 AM. Interment to follow at Memorial Redwood Mortuary and Cemetery 6500 South Redwood Road, West Jordan, Utah.
