David Richard Law

June 18, 1941 — December 14, 2024

David Richard Law, 83, of West Jordan, UT, passed away in the morning of December 14, 2024 at CommonSpirit Holy Cross Hospital following cardiac complications. Dave was born on June 18, 1941 in Salt Lake City to Marjorie Florence Law and Clarence Richard Law. He attended Kearns Elementary, Kearns Jr. High, and Cyprus High School. Dave was the second oldest of five boys. 

Dave worked in the smelter of Kennecott Copper Mine in Bingham Canyon, UT for 40 years. Upon his retirement, he began driving buses for Utah Transit Authority (UTA). He met Kathy in elementary school, began dating in Jr. high school, married on February 14, 1959, and together they had three children, DelRae, Scott, and Brody. Dave was a dedicated family man who provided for his wife and children. Together they enjoyed camping in the mountains and sand dunes of Utah. Dave had a passion for leather working, gardening, cooking, most famously known for his jerky, salsa, chili sauce, and sour salad dressing. 

Dave was preceded in death by his parents, Marjorie and Clarence Law, his younger brother Robert Law and Billy Gene, and his wife Kathleen Law. He is survived by their three children, DelRae, Scott, and Brody Law, his older brother Ron Law, and younger brother Tom Law, and his nine grandchildren, Jason Hutchings of AZ, Desiree Hutchings-Simmons of AZ, Chalease Karterakis of UT, Cathi Robinson of MD, Tory Law of UT, Keira, Keaton, Kinley, Kamden, all of AZ, and his 10 great-grandchildren. 

A private viewing will be held prior to a public graveside memorial service on Friday, January 3rd, 2025 at 10:00 AM at Memorial Redwood Mortuary 6500 S. Redwood Rd., West Jordan, UT 84123.

Following the memorial, a luncheon will be held at The Church of Ladder Day Saints on 3200 W. 7200 S., West Jordan, Utah, 84084.
