David William Parry, age 91, received his final mission call Sunday, January 25, 2015. He was called to serve His Heavenly Father in the work beyond the veil.
He was a man of Family, a man of God, a man of country and a man of community. He served his country in WWII. He served his God in Hawaii and Pennsylvania. He served his community as a school teacher, scout leader, sports coach, and as an outstanding citizen. Most of all he served his family. His sacrifice in all that he did was always for us. He was a caring and loving father and husband.
He loved volleyball, basketball and softball and mentored many young men in those areas. He was an avid golfer.
He owned Parry’s Office Supply Store and enjoyed serving anyone who entered the store.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Ruth B. Parry. Daughter Joyce (Scott) Hendricks-Virginia, Sons: Mark (Beverly) Parry – SLC, Utah; John (Tawna) Parry, Colorado and Kent (Kim) Parry, SLC Utah. He is also survived by 17 Grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Elsie Parry, Sister Margaret Osborn and brothers Vern and Edwin Parry. And daughter-in-law Tamara Parry (Mark).
He was a friend to all and will be deeply missed.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 30th at 11:00 at the LDS Holladay North Stake Center, 4395 S. Albright Drive, Holladay, Utah. Viewings will be Thursday, January 29, 6:00 to 7:30 at the Holladay Cottonwood Memorial Mortuary, 4670 S Highland Drive and one hour prior to the service at the church.
