David Nelson

Passed away: March 27th 2022 in Holladay, Utah
He was born on March 21st, 1933 in Great Falls, Montana to Margaret S. And Emil H. Nelson who preceded him in death.
He married Beverly C. Mican on June 14, 1957.
David Nelson volunteered for military service in June 1952, he served with the U.S. Army in Washington, Alaska, and Japan.
David attended the University of Montana where he graduated with a B.S. Degree in Pharmacy in June 1958.
After graduation from college, He worked as a pharmacist in several retail and hospital pharmacies. He was employed as a pharmacy manager for Skaggs Drug Centers and later went on to become store manager at Skaggs Drug Centers in Great Falls, Spokane, Elko and Salt Lake City. He later returned to the practice of pharmacy and was pharmacy manager for several Skaggs, Alpha Beta and Osco drug stores before retiring.
David was a thirty-three-degree mason and was active in the Masonic Lodge throughout much of his adult life where he served in a number of positions ultimately culminating in becoming Most Worshipful Grand Master of the Most Worshipful Grand Lodge of Free & Accepted Masons of Utah in 1997.
In addition to his great love for Free Masonry David was highly skilled in woodworking and carpentry. David was an artist with stained-glass, had a great love for literature and enjoyed collecting stamps and coins.
Of all of his talents David was an artist when it came to being a loving husband and father. He was always there when his family needed him, nothing came before family.
He is survived by his wife Beverly, their four children Barbara, Patty (Bill), Karen and David (Melissa) as well as eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 11 with a viewing starting at 12:30 and
Graveside service at 2:00pm at Mountain View Memorial Mortuary, 3115 S Bengal Blvd, Cottonwood Heights, Utah 84121. In lieu of flowers please make donations to Scottish Rite Children’s Learning Center 650 East South Temple St. SLC 84102.
