David Lynn Matern, age 66, passed away peacefully, in his home, on October 7, 2021.
He was born on March 30, 1955, in Salt Lake City, Utah to Alfred Robert Matern and Shirley Jane Bailey Matern. He married his sweetheart, Suzanne Brown Matern, on August 31, 1978 in the Salt Lake City Temple.
Dave graduated from Granite High School and Salt Lake Community College. He worked as an Electronic Technician. He was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He loved ham radio, electronics, and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his loving wife, Suzanne, children Jason (Kalei), John (Casey), Shelley (Jake), and his 12 grandchildren. He is also survived by his father, Bob, and brother Richard (Carla). He was preceded in death by his mother, Shirley.
The Family wishes to thank all who helped care for Dave.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 13, 2021 at 11:00 am at Memorial Mountain View Mortuary and Cemetery located at 3115 East 7800 South, Cottonwood Heights, UT 84121. A viewing will be held one hour prior to the service at 10:00 am. Interment will take place immediately following the service at Memorial Mountain View Mortuary and Cemetery. Services will also be live-streamed via Zoom
