David Jones

July 13, 1944 — December 16, 2015

David was born July 13, 1944 in Tooele, Utah to Joseph M. Jones and Edith Hedman. He passed away, quietly in his sleep early December 16, 2015 at the Golden Living Center, which he loved so much.
David was a special spirit, with such a big heart. He was very social, and loved being around people, for who he always showed concern. He loved to laugh and joke, and that is how he showed his affection. He will be missed by so many who loved him. He had many burdens to bear in his life, but went through them with a positive attitude, never feeling sorry for himself. He was always showing concern for others, rather than for the trials he faced. He began his working career with KFC, even before it was KFC, when it was known as the Do Drop In. He worked for Harmans for 45 years, and retired in 2008. He loved all the people he worked with, as they became family to him. They treated him with such love and respect, especially Pete Harman, who preceded him in death.
He is survived by his twin sister Linda Rose (Rick) and sister Loretta Jones. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Graveside services will be held Saturday, December 19, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Lake Hills Memorial Park Cemetery, 10055 South State Street, Sandy, Utah. It will simply be a celebration of his life. Please come with fun stories you might like to share.
At this time we wish to thank the Golden Living Center who gave him such wonderful care, and the Hospice team, especially Ashley, who rendered such compassionate love and care in the last days.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Huntsman Cancer Institute, 2000 Circle of Hope, Salt Lake City, UT 84112 Online condolences may be left at www.LakeHillsMortuary.com
