David J. Neale

David J. Neale beloved husband, brother and uncle passed away on July 30, 2020. Dave was born on June 24, 1950 in Petaluma, CA to Everett J. and Vera Maye (Graves) Neale. The Family soon moved back to Bellevue, NE where Dave spent his childhood. In 1968 Dave graduated from Bellevue High School where he was a contributing member of the school paper. After high school Dave attended the University of Nebraska where he earned a degree in Geology and found his deepest passion in life – Nebraska Football. Fall was always his favorite time of year; he always looked forward to watching his favorite team.  Dave completed a little post graduate work in Ohio and participated in several geology field studies before eventually landing in Utah.
While in Utah Dave picked up a few new interests in history, firearms and bowling. In 1994 he married his true love Barbara and they enjoyed bowling on leagues together. Dave also discovered a new passion in roller coasters. Dave was not a fan of coasters at first, but rode them as his wife Barbara loves them. He soon learned what he had been missing, and loved riding all the coasters they visited together across the county but especially loved the one here in Utah – Cannibal. Dave enjoyed talking about history and firearms with his nephew Josh. One of Dave’s favorite memories was taking his nephews Todd and Thomas to the park when they were young and having them throw dirt clogs at him.
Dave leaves behind his wife of 26 years Barbara Connell-Neale, his babies Humphrees and DeeDee, brother Jack R Neale, nephews Chris Neale, Scott Neale, David (Adrien) Neale, Steve Neale, Todd (Lori) Neale, Todd (Ashley) Connell, Thomas Connell, Jonathan (May) Connell, Josh Sheetz and nieces Sandy (Brian) Mills, Christy (John) Horvat, Jacqueline (Drayson) McComb, McKayla (Deidre) Vance, McKenna Fant, and Olivia Fant. Dave is also survived by his mother-in-law Barbara E Connell, brother-in-law Robert Connell, sister-in-law Kathy (Steve) Fant, sister-in-law Karen (Mike) Curtis, bother-in-law Jeff Sheetz, sister-in-law Diane Taylor and Carol Peacock. Also numerous good friends and neighbors.
Dave was preceded in death by his parents Everett and Vera Neale of Loveland, CO., brother Richard E Neale of Loveland, CO., sister-in-law Katheryn Neale of Chesterton, IN., and father-in-law Robert S Connell of Sandy, UT.
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic services will be delayed. A memorial service will be scheduled for a later date when it is safe for all friends and family to gather.
