David Hugh Johnson passed away unexpectedly in his home on the evening of Saturday, August 11th, 2018. He was born on January 30th, 1970 in Ann Arbor, MI to John and Barbara Johnson. Shortly after, his parents and siblings moved to Salt Lake City, Utah where he resided for the remainder of his life. He was a beloved son, brother, friend and father.
David graduated from Brighton High School in June 1988 and served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Barcelona, Spain from February 1989 to February 1991. Upon returning from his mission he attended the University of Utah for three years. In his youth he was very athletic and excelled in many sports, enjoying golf the most. One of his biggest accomplishments was winning the Beat The Pro golf challenge a number of years ago. He spent most of his working years in the food and beverage industry and dreamed of one day owning his own restaurant. He had recently returned to school to finish his degree to be able to fulfill this dream. He was very friendly, charismatic, and loved to laugh.
He is survived by his three children, Zachary David Johnson, Savannah Sharon Bigelow, and Sienna Noelle Wilber, as well as his father, John W. Johnson Jr., his older sister Linda J. Gunderson (David), his older brother, John D. Johnson (Suzannah), his twin, Michael J. Johnson (Sara), and his younger brother, Robert S. Johnson (Merisa). He is preceded in death by his Mother, Barbara Claire Selander Johnson.
A viewing service will be held on Thursday, August 16th from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at the LDS Church building located at 1830 East 6400 South, Murray, UT. 84121. The Funeral service will be held at the same location on Friday, August 17th at 11:00am with an additional viewing starting at 10:00am. Interment will be at the Mountain View Memorial Park and Mortuary, 3115 East Bengal Blvd, Cottonwood Heights, UT 84121.Service Information
