Dave was born in Leeds, England two days before Christmas, then lived in Canada, Oklahoma, and grew up in California before settling in Salt Lake City in 1972. Dave was a lover of animals and worked at the University of Utah doing animal research and training researchers for over 35 years. An avid fisherman and outdoorsman, his favorite thing was to spend time with friends and family in the wilderness of Wyoming, which he considered his second home.
Dave was a jolly, kind, loving man who wouldn’t give up on anything he did. He always had a smile on his face and never had anything bad to say about anyone. He was extremely resilient and took any hardship that came his way with dignity, poise, and humor. His memory and legacy lives on through his family which he loved more than anything – his wife of 33 years Louise, son Michael, daughter in law Tiffany, daughter Sara, son in law Brandon, and granddaughter Ellie, as well as countless friends and extended family all over the world.
We will have a visitation for Dave from 6pm-8pm Wednesday, August 10 and another visitation the following day from 12pm-1pm, and a funeral at 1pm, all at Holladay Cottonwood Mortuary.
If you would like to pay respects monetarily, please donate to the AALAS foundation in which Dave was a member and heavily involved.
