Dr. David Davies of Cottonwood Heights, Utah passed away 6-22-15 from complications resulting from a stroke.Born Nov. 11, 1941 to his loving parents Blake and Olea Davies of Fillmore Utah.David is survived by his wife Eileen Davies, his sister Mary Day, seven of his eight children, (Michael Davies, Adam Davies, Elizabeth Jensen, Rebecca Laszlo, Matthew Davies, Aaron Davies and Sarah Bell) 12 grandchildren and four great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two of his sisters Dorothy Davies and Dawn Johnson as well as his son David Jacob Blake Davies.David was awarded an NDEA fellowship which allowed him to earn his PhD in psychology from BYU. He graduated with high honors in 1965 and went on to marry Eileen Sweeney in 1967. He worked for the state of Utah as an education specialist and for Salt Lake County as a psychologist as well as maintaining a private practice on the side. He was a voracious reader, a lifelong learner and nature lover. David was a fantastic husband; father, brother, friend and provider. He showed us all through his actions more then his words, how dear we were to him. He will be sorely missed. Private funeral services will be held for the family.
