David Boothe

September 27, 1939 — January 8, 2014

David “Bud” Boothe passed away January 8, 2014 in Salt Lake City. He was born September 27, 1939 in Delta, Utah to James L. and Faye Boothe. He married Charlotte Weeks; later divorced. He married Mary Susan Hards, July 24, 1971. Bud felt most at home in the mountains. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, and shared his love of the outdoors with his children. He was happiest when he was sitting around a campfire with his friends and family or shooting pool. The fish in Utah’s waterways will be a bit safer now that Dad and his white fishing poles are at rest. Bud had an incredible work ethic. He started working at age 12 as a sheet metal worker. He had an amazing ability to create any project from sight and memory. He retired after spending the majority of his career installing heating and air conditioning for Aire-Flo. Even though he was retired, he always found time to help someone out and install one more furnace. Bud is survived by his children, Sherri (Rick) Mounteer, Steven (Kimberly), Scott (Connie), Jamie Boothe, Leasa (Mike) Foust, Valerie (Tim) Clark; sisters, Charlene (Kent) Nye, Janet (Roger) Hayes, Ruby Bottomley; 18 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren (with 2 more on the way); his faithful companion, Scruffy. Dad had many friends, but none closer than Bob Timmerman, who shared many of Dad’s adventures. Preceded in death by his wife and loving partner of 29 years, Susan; parents; brother, Devon “Hungry” Boothe, and brother-in-law and close friend, Bruce Bottomley. Memorial services will be held Thursday, January 16th, 11:00 a.m. at Redwood Memorial Mortuary, 6500 So. Redwood Rd.
