David Best

David L. Best, age 67, peacefully returned to his Heavenly Father on October 14, 2014. Born October 13, 1947 in Salt Lake City, UT to Carl Garn and Viola Llewelyn Best. Married Susan Viola Maree Jensen, February 5, 1966 (later sealed in the Salt Lake LDS Temple).
David served as a leader in the Boy Scouts for over 14 years. First as Cubmaster, then as Scout Master and had the joy of watching each of his sons earn the rank of Eagle Scout. He was a big tease in a fun loving way and made others laugh constantly. David had many friends and enjoyed being with them always. He loved camping, fishing and playing games.
David is survived by his wife and sweetheart of 48 years, Susan; children, David Robert, Howard Garn (Alisa) and Christopher Lynn (RosaMaria) Best; grandchildren, Rebecca Ann, Daniel Christopher and Jacob Lynn Best; brother, Gordon C. Best. Preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and daughter in law, Beth Ann.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Monday, October 20, 2014 at Redwood Memorial Mortuary, 6500 South Redwood Road, West Jordan, UT. Viewings will be held from 6-8:00 pm on Sunday evening and one hour prior, both at the mortuary. Interment to follow.
