Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend passed away peacefully at his home in Salt Lake City, UT on February 3, 2018.
Darrell was born on February 28, 1947 to Wilburn “Leroy” and Verna Marler Pritchett in Missouri. He married the love of his life, Kathleen Hatch on November 15, 1966. Together they have 4 beautiful daughters, Kerry (Leon), Kim, Kelly and Patricia (Dan), 20 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren with one more on the way.
He is survived by his wife, daughters, 3 sisters, 1 brother, and countless in-laws that became family. He is preceded in death by his mother and father, his step father Irvin Carver, grandson Zues, and 2 sisters.
Darrell loved driving his semi-truck across the country with his wife. He had a love of the outdoors. He loved hunting, fishing, camping and any other activity that allowed him to spend time with his family. He loved everyone he came across and was always on the look-out for a great deal.
He and his wife, Kathleen, raised their 4 wonderful daughters during their 51+ years together. He was an amazing role model for them and taught them how to be independent and strong women. He was always helping his neighbors, shoveling their driveways or making a repair in their home. Most days he could be found tinkering in his garage, building car hauler trailers or making sure the yard was perfect for his wife. Anyone that knew him, knew that he loved his wife very deeply with all of his heart and he wanted to give her the world. He touched a lot of lives and will be missed by many more.
Services will be held at Memorial Redwood Mortuary and Cemetery (6500 South Redwood Road, West Jordan, UT 84123) on Saturday, February 10, 2018 at 11:00AM. Viewings will be held Friday, February 9, 2018 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM and again one hour prior to funeral service. Interment at Memorial Redwood Cemetery.Service Information
