Darlene Robison Rynearson joined her eternal husband on July 14th, 2016, surrounded by her friends and family.
Darlene was born on March 14th, 1934, in Hinckley, Utah to loving parents, Frank and Fern Robison. She was married to Thomas Melvin Rynearson, Jr. on May 7th, 1954, and was later sealed to him and her children on June 11th, 1969, in the Manti Utah Temple.
Preceded in death by her parents, husband Tom, and sisters Margaret and Luella. Darlene is survived by brothers Frank Junior and Carl, sister Eva Ann, and children Douglas (Cyndy), Gregory (Marci-Ann), Cheryl, and Shawna (Dave) Dyson; 12 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren, with 2 more on the way.
Darlene studied at Brigham Young University and later worked at The Paris Company, where she met her love, Tom. Their life together would bring its own challenges, as Tom’s career in law enforcement would require multiple moves. Darlene proved her abilities as a mother and homemaker, raising her family well, wherever and whatever the circumstances.
Working outside the home also allowed Darlene opportunities to share her gifts. Over the years, she worked in a dental office while her children were young, and then in a career as a loan officer for Granite Credit Union until she retired.
Darlene’s passions, however, aside from her family, were her loving dedication to her heritage with The Daughters of the Utah Pioneers (for over 50 years!), and with an obsession for genealogy, which lined her walls and bookshelves. She also served in support of Tom’s career with the Utah Highway Patrol Auxiliary.
Working in service of her faith was also fulfilling to Darlene. She was called to serve in the Jordan River and St. George Temples of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, as well as in the church records division in Hurricane, Utah.
Darlene bravely fought and defeated cancer twice, both breast and colon.
In addition to the legacy of her family and life of service, Darlene leaves behind the many treasured works of beauty and warmth she made. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, and knitting and crocheting.
The celebration of Darlene’s life will be held at 2:00 pm, Tuesday, July 19th, 2016, at Memorial Redwood Mortuary, 6500 South Redwood Road, West Jordan, Utah with viewings to be held from 6-8:00 pm on Monday evening and also one hour prior to the service, both at the mortuary.Service Information
