Darlene Putnam Torgerson

December 27, 1934 — June 11, 2018

On June 11, 2018 the matriarch of our family returned to her Heavenly Father. She was reunited with her loving husband Mark, beloved son Wayne, and many others who have gone on before. Darlene was born in Auburn, WY to Charles Putnam and Golda Walton. She married the love of her life Edward Mark Torgerson February 14, 1957. They had three children Golda (Rex), Debbie (Tim), Wayne (Tina). She was a caretaker all her life. Working 30 years at Primary Children’s Hospital. After retiring there she finished out her career at Salt Lake Home. She was devoted to family sharing her love, home, and guidance freely. She was blessed to have 8 grandchildren, and soon to be 5 great grandchildren who made her life crazy, but she said: “yeah but isn’t it fun.” Her comforting hugs, sassy spirit and infectious laugh will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
There will be a viewing Friday night from 6-8 at Memorial Redwood Mortuary 6500 South Redwood Road, West Jordan, UT 84123. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 16, 2018 at the Rose Park 8th Ward 1155 N 1200 W, Salt Lake City, UT 84116, at 11 with a viewing one-hour prior.
