Darlene Opal May Hardman

May 7, 1935 — April 4, 2017

Darlene Opal May Higginson Hardman was born on May 7, 1935 to Melvin and Opal Higginson in Consumers, UT.
She married Olin Hardman August 2, 1953.
Darlene was an amazing wife and mother of five daughters. She dedicated most of her days to this calling for which we are truly grateful. Her goal in life was to keep her family close, which she did to the very end.
Darlene was a woman of many talents, but her strongest talent was making people feel loved and welcome. When you walked through her door you felt that immediately. She loved with all her heart and energy.
She was one of the most creative people you could ever meet. She was an amazing painter and upholsterer. She loved to do any craft project that she or anyone else could come up with. If you wanted to create something but you were not sure how, you took it to Darlene, and she would have a plan and be started on it before you could even sit down.
She loved to read books, even after she lost her eye sight she would listen to books on tape.
She enjoyed camping, horseback riding with her sweetheart, and cooking for everyone. If you left her home hungry it was not because she didn’t try to feed you. Even from her bed during her last few days she was checking to make sure people were fed.
She is survived by her husband Olin Hardman, daughters Valerie Leafty, Karen Porcelli, Jennean Head, Charlene Swindells, Kim Jones, son in laws Tony Porcelli and Aaron Jones, sister Violet Drase, eleven grandchildren, and thirteen great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her father Melvin Higginson, mother Opal Higginson, sister Katherine Wood, brothers John Higginson and Ira Higginson, and son in law David Head.
