Darlene Carpenter passed away June 25, 2024 in West Valley City, Utah. She was born November 2, 1940 in Torrey, Utah to John and Dora Bloomfield. She married Steven Carpenter and later was divorced from him in 1985.
Darlene loved to help and serve others and was truly a kind and selfless person. She served in many callings and organizations for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and had an unwavering faith and dedication to her Savior, Jesus Christ. She was a great example to all who knew her.
Throughout her life, Darlene was active in various political and social organizations. Her very favorite and most loved group that she belonged to was The Daughters of Utah Pioneers. She found great joy and happiness from the association with the wonderful women of this organization. Before Darlene retired, she became a Certified Nursing Assistant and loved helping others in that role. Darlene was loved by all and will be missed by friends and family.
Darlene is survived by her children: Lee Naylor (Brad), Terry Carpenter (Tricia), and Kevin Carpenter (Megan) and her sister Marilyn Kahananui, as well as many grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her mother and father, John and Dora Bloomfield, her eldest son, Gary Carpenter, and many of her siblings: LaVerda Lynn, Duane Townsend, Glenn Townsend, Des Townsend, Lavona Watkins, Beatrice Brady, Eulala Van Buren, and Lynn Bloomfield,
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, July 2, 2024 at 11:30 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints ward building, located at 1970 East Stratford Avenue, Salt Lake City, Utah 84106. There will be a viewing where people may come and show their respect from 9:30-11:30 a.m. before the services. Interment at Memorial Holladay Cemetery, 4900 South Memory Lane, Holladay, Utah 84117.
