Daniel Howard Lowe, 45, peacefully transitioned from this world and on to the final frontier the morning of September 14th, 2024 while in the arms of his wife.
Daniel was born on September 1st, 1979 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Melinda Kalmar Brown and Howard Olsen Lowe. Growing up, he was the only boy in a blended family with nine sisters. He attended Olympus High School and graduated with the class of 1997.
Dan had many passions; Star Trek, Utah Utes football, his pet bird Ziggy Featherdust, reading, Pink Floyd, The Beatles, history/philosophy, and video games (to name just a few!); but his deepest passion and devotion was to his wife and soulmate, Audbrie. He was also very devoted to his family and his work. He worked tirelessly to support his family. He joined the team at Harmon's Grocery, quickly moving from an associate position to become the grocery manager. If you saw him in the store, it was easy to see the great pride he took in his work, his coworkers, and the store. Dan was known for going out of his way to help anyone who needed it. He put his whole heart into everything he did.
In early December of 2023, Daniel was diagnosed with metastatic kidney cancer. He fought bravely for ten months.
He leaves behind his eternally devoted wife, Audbrie Lowe, and six deeply loved children from their big, blended family: Isaac (Riley) Lowe; Seth Lowe; Mary Lowe; Javier L.; Kaeli L., and Irish H. Dan also leaves behind two sets of loving parents; Melinda & Russel Brown; Howard & Anne Lowe, and his nine loving sisters and their families; Rebecca (Caleb) Lowe Hobbs; Andrea (Kyle) Lowe Jones; Allison (Jeremy) Lowe Bills; Lara (Griffin) Hunt Osmond; Michelle Hunt; Jessica (Ezra) Brown Arevalo; Emily (Craig) Brown Lloyd; Sarah Brown Smith and Natalie (Morgan) Brown Everett. He will also be missed greatly by many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and all his Harmons coworkers and customers.
In his passing, he was preceded and greeted by his grandparents Sherman & Nina Lowe and George & Anna Marie Kalmar.
There will be a Celebration of Life in honor of Daniel in October. If you are interested in attending, please reach out to the family for details.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be given in Daniel’s memory to the Kidney Cancer Association ( kidneycancer.org )
“So you will understand when I say, 'Death is that state in which one exists only in the memory of others...which is why it is not an end.' No goodbyes. Just good memories. Hailing frequencies closed, sir.” -Tasha Yar, Star Trek: The Next Generation
