Daniel Jay Ostler

Our beloved and cherished father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend passed away March 26, 2017 at the age of 83, surrounded by his family.  He was born June 7, 1933 in SLC, Utah into the loving family of Dora Eliza and James D. Ostler.   He graduated from East High School in 1951 and married Carolyn Hart in the Salt Lake City Temple on June 20, 1958.
Jay worked most of his career at Unisys (Sperry Rand Corporation) were he was a procurement specialist of government contracts.  He retired from that same company in 1992.
Jay and Carolyn were married for 58 years.  They had 3 children.  Jay is survived by his wife, Carolyn, sons Jerry (Lauri), Michael (Beverly), and daughter Jalynn (Rick), 7 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.  He is preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 31, 2017 at 11:00 am at the Mueller Park 1st Ward, 1825 South 800 East in Bountiful, Utah. Friends and family may call on Friday from 10:00 am – 10:45 am at the same location.  Interment following the services will take place at Lakeview Memorial Cemetery, 1640 E. Lakeview Drive, Bountiful, Utah.  Services under the direction of Lakeview Mortuary.
