Daniel Jacob Seat

After a fulfilled life of hard work, travel, creating and tinkering, fixing and repairing, Daniel Jacob Seat, of Holladay, Utah passed on June 28, 2016 while at home, holding his wife’s hand. Dan was born in Payson, Utah on September 12, 1935 to John and Mamie DeGraw Seat. He was the proud father of two children, Teresa Marie Seat Foulger, and Jeffrey Alan Seat (Rebecca). He was also the super-proud grandfather of Ian and Nathan Foulger (Teresa), and Logan and Nick Seat (Jeffrey).
Daniel served honorably as a Specialist 3rd Class in the United States Army from 1953-1956, and was deployed during the Korean war. On July 16, 1960, he married Karen Robertson Seat. Daniel was a quality control engineer and was employed by several government defense contractors for the majority of his working life. He retired from L3 Engineering in 1996 to begin many motor home treks. He and his wife traveled across 45 of the United States where they made many long-distance friends. Eventually they wintered in Phoenix, AZ and spent the summers at their long-time home in Holladay.
Dan had a driving curiosity about the world, its people, and science. He enjoyed woodworking, national and international travel, metal detecting, fixing anything that was broken, figuring things out, and talking to strangers.
