Damacio (Marty) was born March 26, 1933 in Durango, Colorado to Seferino Martinez and Adelaida Valdez Martinez. Damacio passed away unexpectedly on Saturday December 2, 2017 at the age of 84. He was surrounded by his wife, children, family and friends.
Damacio married Celia Romero in 1951. They enjoyed 66 years together. He called his wife from his hospital bed on Friday to wish his wife “Happy Anniversary” and tell her that he loved her.
Damacio was a hard worker. He worked for Dixon Paper – International Paper – xpedx and retired after working for 32 years. He took pride in his job and in providing for his family.
He enjoyed going on vacations and spending winters in Yuma, AZ with his brother Amador and sister in law Sally. Despite his son’s protest he was an avid Bronco fan. He was always full of enthusiasm and laughter.
He will be sorely missed by his family and all his friends that he made throughout the years.
Damacio is survived by his wife Celia, sister Bennie Moore, two brothers Leroy and Frank. Sons Michael, Ken (Linda), and Randy (Barbara). He made it known that although he had sons he really enjoyed his granddaughters more. He is survived by several Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his father Seferino, mother Adelaida, two brothers Seferino Jr and Amador, one sister Leona and his son David.
Services will be held at Mount Calvary Assembly of God Church located on 3050 South 3200 West in WVC. A viewing will be held on Friday December 8th from 6 to 8 pm with funeral services on Saturday December 9th from 1 to 2:30. An additional viewing will be held one hour prior to the funeral service on Saturday. Interment to follow the service Saturday, at Memorial Redwood Cemetery, 6500 South Redwood Road, West Jordan, Utah.
