D Lochrie

April 23, 1927 — October 22, 2013

Bob Lochrie, 86, passed away peacefully at his home on October 22, surrounded by his family. He was born on April 23 in Frisco, Utah to Donald and Margaret Lochrie. He proudly served in the US Navy in World War II and while at home on leave, he met his wife Carol, who he was happily married to for 67 years. He was honorably discharged from the service in 1946 and started his new life in Salt Lake City where he spent many years creating memories with his family and many friends. He worked very hard throughout the years in sales to provide comfort and love for his family. His first job was at Fuller Paint Company and he later became a manufacturer’s rep for Piedmont Moulding and traveled the western states. Survived by his wife, Carol Vincent Lochrie, 2sisters- Donna O’Brien (Pete-deceased) and Margie Flint (Larry), 3 daughters Dianna Henson (Rocky), Terrie Lochrie and Kim McHugh (Scott), 3 grandchildren- Britt Graham (Shawn), Jared McGrath and Sean McHugh- 4 great grandchildren, Mackenzie, Kennedy, Ryder and Kayden and extended family in California and Park City. His special furry companion, Addison will miss playing ball with her grandpa. Preceded in death by his parents and grandson, Jason McGrath. His passion was golf and he spent many days at Glenmore Golf Course with his buddies, where he was proud to have had several eagles and 2 holes in one. He was proof that a full backswing was not necessary to hit the ball a mile. His grandson Sean was happy to spend time with his grandpa learning how to play golf. Bob enjoyed boating and spent a lot of summers with his family and friends in Lake Powell. He loved camping and tailgating at the U of U football games with his friends. He was an avid bridge player and looked forward to his Sundays where he would partner up with his son- in- law Rocky in an effort to outplay his daughters. He was able to play bridge till the end. Bob and the family are most grateful to the special friends and caregivers at Symbii home health and hospice for their friendship and compassionate care with a very special thank you to Raschelle who truly was Bob’s living angel. He did not have any boys to carry on his name, which he was so proud of, but his family will carry on his traditions and love and cherish him always. At Bob’s request, there will be no formal funeral services. A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday at 2:00pm on Nov 2 at 11477 Willowview Way (2170 E). Please bring a memory and or a photo to share with friends and family. REST IN PEACE.… YOU WILL ALWAYS BE IN OUR HEARTS
