Cynthia Rose Gygi Andrews

April 21, 1970 — October 7, 2017

Cynthia Rose Gygi Andrews, age 47, passed away October 7, 2017 following a very short battle with cancer. Cindy was born April 21, 1970 to Donald and Judy Shepherd Gygi in Salt Lake City, Utah.  She married Shawn Michael Andrews March 21, 1989.
Cindy loved her family, and her whole life was dedicated to serving and helping them. Cindy had the cleanest house and cooked the best meals of anyone we know. She enjoyed crafting, scrapbooking, and gardening. Everything she touched was made beautiful by her. She was the family cake maker—she custom made cakes for all of the birthdays each year. She made beautiful scrapbooks for her family.  Cindy grew the best vegetables, strawberries, raspberries, and flowers in her gardens. Cindy loved roses most of all.
Cindy was a huge fan of Mark Slaughter, who knew her by name. She also loved Little House on the Prairie, and knew nearly every episode by heart. Cindy was a huge Pittsburgh Steelers fan and cheered them on through every game.
Cindy was the primary care giver for Mom and Dad. She is Mom’s best friend—they talked to each other every day. Cindy took Mom to all of her doctor appointments and made sure both Mom and Dad had everything they needed. She started the tradition of “feeding the Missionaries” every Monday night when Mom and Dad were on a church service mission, and that tradition continued until just before she died.
Cindy was a positive person, and always greeted people with a smile on her face. Even while fighting cancer, she kept a positive attitude. She was the “life of the party” during chemo sessions, and everyone there loved her.
Cindy is survived by her husband Shawn, sons Tyler and Zach (Cristina), parents Don and Judy Gygi, siblings Steven Gygi, Becky (Sterling) Broadbent, Scott (Jana) Gygi, Ben (Tanya) Gygi, and Mark (Caroline) Gygi, and nieces and nephews Vincent Gygi, Alex Broadbent, Amanda Broadbent, Rachel Broadbent, Hayden Gygi , Avery Gygi, Mackenzie Gygi, Marketa Gygi, and Josh Gygi, and her puppies Outlaw, Sheriff and Grizzly.
