Curtis M. Torgersen (86) passed away quietly after a short illness. He was the son of Ralph and Hilda Torgersen and was raised in Salt Lake City. After graduating high school, Curt enlisted in the navy and served his duty in Kodiak, Alaska. Upon his return, he attended the University of Utah where he received his degree in pharmacology. Curt spent most of his work career at Holy Cross Hospital where he was the pharmacy director upon his retirement. Dad was a very strong individual but was very tenderhearted. He truly loved attending his grandchildren’s activities in sports and the arts. Mom and Dad were married August 19, 1953. They later solemnized this marriage and sealed their children to them in the Salt Lake Temple. After mom and his family, dad loved the cabin he built up in the mountains. He spent many happy years doing what he loved—building it. Curt was preceded in death by his parents, brother and sister and his mother and father-in-law. He is survived by his loving wife Beverly, children David and Anita Torgersen, Deb Torgersen, Byron and Beckie Torgersen, Jay and Talli Torgersen, 10 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. The family would like to offer special thanks to the nurses and administrators at North Canyon Care Center and a special thanks to Kenzlee with Summit Hospice. Funeral services will be held Friday, August 28th at 11:00 am at the Bountiful 31st Ward, 585 East Center Street. A viewing will be held at the 31st Ward from 9:30 to 11:00 am prior to services. Interment will be at Lakeview Memorial Estates.
