Craig Malecker

May 2, 1955 — October 14, 2015

Our father, Craig Robert Malecker, passed away unexpectedly October 14th, 2015 due to a pulmonary embolism. He was born May 2, 1955 in Salt Lake City to Robert and Carmel Malecker along with his twin/ partner in crime, Mark.
He served in the U.S. Army briefly after graduating from Granite High School in 1973. He then spent several years as a long-haul truck driver. He loved recounting the many adventures he had during his trucking days. He then moved on to employment with the Utah Department of Transportation where he worked to build and maintain roads for 17 years. While there he made a lifelong friend, Ron Allred, who has been through the best and the worst with him over the years. He finally discovered his true calling as CranioSacral therapist while attending the Myotherapy College of Massage Therapy in 1993. He made it his life’s work to obtain the highest level of education possible in that field. He worked as a practitioner of CranioSacral therapy for over 20 years where he helped countless clients with various health-related issues. He was extremely proud of the business he built and he loved his clients like family. He loved traveling to exotic locations and spending time with his daughters and granddaughters.
He is survived by his two daughters, Cara Bailey (Ian), and Emma Malecker, his two granddaughters, Aven and Etta, and his sister Shelly Beverley as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Carmel, and his brother, Mark.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, October 20th at 1:00 pm at The Chase Mill in Tracy Aviary, Liberty Park, 589 E. 1300 S., SLC. There will be no entrance fee to enter Tracy Aviary for the memorial. Following the memorial service there will an open house at the same location until 4:00 pm.
