Craig Chamberlain

March 27, 1948 — March 22, 2020

Craig Wesley Chamberlain passed away on March 22, 2020, from natural causes at Mount Olympus Rehabilitation in Millcreek, Utah. Craig always had a creative mind and was the inventor of the patented Omni-Sphere Dome. The domes were both his life passion and his legacy. He, along with others, built a housing project in downtown Los Angeles, California, with the domes as shelters for the homeless. Justiceville/Homeless USA (aka Dome Village) helped many homeless people improve their lives from when it opened in 1993 to 2006 when it closed. Craig served in the US Navy as a corpsman in the Vietnam War. He was even on the Bob Hope Christmas Special while serving there. He had a monkey named Missy that loved to steal toothpaste and drink beer. He always felt that he was never welcomed home from the war and we would always tell him “Welcome Home Soldier!” and tell him how much we appreciated his service for our Country. He has always been a fan of Snoopy and had collected several memorabilia over the years. Throughout his life, Craig got to travel to many different countries and meet many great people. You could sit down with him and he could tell you stories for days. He was always ready to go on a road trip, video recorder in hand and the Moody Blues blasting on the stereo. He was greatly loved by so many people and will be deeply missed.
Craig is preceded in death by his father Roland Wesley Chamberlain, his mother Joyce LaRue (Kinder) Chamberlain, and sister Shawna Sue Hiskey. He is survived by his three children and seven grandchildren.
