Cory Rydman

December 3, 1975 — August 14, 2019

Cory Kay Rydman, born on December 3, 1975 to Terry and Dianne Rydman and passed away on August 14, 2019. There will be a visitation Friday August 23, 2019 from 6-8 pm at the Memorial Mountain View Mortuary on 3115 Bengal Blvd, Cottonwood Heights Utah.  On Saturday August 24, 2019 an additional visitation will be held from 10:30-11:30 with funeral services at 12:00 pm at the Cedar Trails Ward, 1934 Cedar Trails Way, in Eagle Mountain Utah.
As a child, Cory enjoyed go-carts, BB guns, snowboarding and started his lifelong love for art and fishing.
He graduated from Seminary and Hillcrest High School with the class of 1994.
After high school, he served in the San Diego California mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.  He was a great missionary that influenced many people’s lives through teaching the gospel and by being a caring friend.  Cory had the gift of connecting with people and making them feel loved and important.
He then attended college at the University of Utah.
Cory loved being active. Some of Cory’s hobbies and interests include fishing, hunting, hiking, camping, biking, playing the guitar, animals (especially dogs), and drinking Diet Dr. Pepper.  He loved listening to music and playing his guitar to the blues and classic rock (Eric Clapton, Buddy Guy, Jimmy Hendrix and Dave Matthews to name a few).  He loved watching the Jazz and was a Seahawks fan since his childhood.  He was also a member of the Volkswagen Club participating in car shows and other activities. He became a Certified Personal Trainer and he ran several 5k’s, 10k’s, half marathons and marathons. He loved to fix, restore, polish and parade around old Land Cruisers and Volkswagen Bugs and trucks.  He especially loved playing with his children, nieces, and nephews.
He was employed at ARUP where he worked as a courier for over 10 years.
Cory valued this beautiful earth we’ve been given and all living things on it.  Cory’s priorities in life were always about family and enjoying life.  In 2005 Cory married Skye Phillips in the Salt Lake Temple.  They welcomed their first child Norah Jane in 2011 and later welcomed Thomas Cory into their family in 2014.
Despite his many physical and mental challenges, he always kept his strong faith and was rock solid in his testimony of his Savior Jesus Christ and the Book of Mormon.  He loved the gospel and was a great example of loving and serving others.
He will be deeply missed by his wife Skye Rydman, his two children Norah and Tommy, his parents Dianne and Terry Rydman, his four brothers Chris (Emily), Tony (Melissa), Troy (Jeni) and Quinn (Lindsey), his 12 nieces and nephews, his extended family and countless friends.  We love you Cory.
