Cornell Alfred Woods Jr.

November 26, 1987 — December 16, 2021

Cornell A. Woods Jr (Junior) was born on November 26, 1987, in Salt Lake City Utah to Cornell Senior and Kathy Woods.
Cornell Woods Jr aka Junior was passionate about everything he did. He played baseball for Cyprus and football for Hunter, and he made the all-star team every year for both sports.  After high school he had his daughter Leyah and if he wasn’t loving on her he was working hard at traffic control. He loved his fashion (any and all things Jordan) and music, mostly Kevin Gates but if he was comfortable around you, he might have sang a few country songs while he cruised around the city.
I know most people say their loved ones were as big as life and had a laugh that could catch a crowds attention but junior really did capture crowds. He was always a leader amongst his peers. Not to mention he has a smirk type smile that made any woman weak in the knees. That’s how he captured his fiancé attention, that smirk and those bright eyes. That’s all it took, and her heart was his.
If you were lucky enough to be loved by him. You knew you were in his heart for life. Junior was a lover and a fighter. He fought for what and who he loved and everything he wanted in life. He survived many adversities and every year he was a better man for it. He was never too shy to tell you what he knew or thought (or thought he knew lol) He was as stubborn as he was handsome and if you didn’t give him his way, he knew he could always just go to mom to get it.
There was no such thing as a mama boy if he wasn’t it. Which is why we know he is at peace now. He is preceded in death by his devoted and sweet mother Kathy Woods and his sister Lessie Woods his partner in crime since the beginning of time. Auntie Peggy Ann Woods, Uncle Bob Morgan, and Jim Patton, cousin Duane Jolley.
He survived by his beautiful daughter Leyah Woods. His loving Fiancé Sabrina Stenholm and her son Jax. His strong and hardworking father Cornell A Woods Sr. His supportive and beautiful sisters Yolanda Brown, Gloria (Davion) Pope, Courtney Woods. His nephews and nieces Bear, Marcos, Felicia, Fagan, Avianna, Alissa, Kelise, Kyree, Khloe, Lilian, Stella, Davina and Beatrice. Great nieces Amirah and Amani and great nephew Alijah.
