Corina Sanchez Romero

Our beloved mother Corina Sanchez Romero passed away surrounded by her loving family at the age of 94 years on Tuesday, November 22, 2022, South Salt Lake, Utah. She was born on June 2, 1928, in Rodarte, New Mexico to Benjamin & Riuben Sanchez. She married our father Jose “Joe” Melesandro Romero on November 20, 1948.
Our mother loved her flowers and gardening, spent many hours planting, harvesting, canning and was extremely creative and crafty, she sewed clothes, costumes, prom dresses and bridesmaid dresses for her children. She also crocheted, quilted and was amazing with school projects with her children and grandchildren. Our parents made a great team and Mom was a great sport to keep up with our father, she learned how to fish, golf, bowl and every other activity he got into. They also created fun home décor together. Mom spent many hours volunteering at church and at the school library. She worked as a teacher’s aide for over 20 years at West Kearns Elementary.
She was a devoted Roman Catholic and very passionate in her faith who instilled the value of prayer, service, charity, and the love of family.
She is survived by Gloria Romero-Long, Janet Healy (Tony), Larry (Julie) Romero, Victor (Lisa) Romero, Frances Romero-Martinez, 14 Grandchildren and 26 Great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Jose (Joe) Melesandro Romero, Patsy Romero (daughter), Benjamin and Riuben Sanchez (parents), Kate Archuleta (sister), Esmeralda Martinez (sister), Delfino Sanchez (brother), Jose Abenicio Sanchez (brother), Benjamin Sanchez (brother) nieces, nephews, and in-laws.
Viewing and Vigil Services will be held on Wednesday, November 30th from 6:00pm – 8:00pm (Rosary @ 7:30 pm). Thursday, December 1st a viewing at 10:30 am and Funeral Mass at 11:30 am. Services and Mass will be at Saint Martin de Porres Catholic Church, 4914 South 2200 West, Taylorsville, UT. Interment will be at Memorial Mortuaries & Cemeteries on 6500 South Redwood Road, West Jordan, UT following Funeral Mass.
The family would like to thank the many relatives, friends and individuals for their love, support, and concern. Also, those who cared for our mother and extended kindness to our family on this last chapter of her life; Cecilia Lopez, Home Instead staff, Twin Oaks Memory Care staff and Renew Hospice. “One Day at a Time”
